This can only be achieved by having a fantastic group of employees and we know that they deserve a great work experience, which we strive to provide.Job DescriptionAs a Branch Customer Service Representative, you are an essential part of the Gentek team. In this client-facing role, you will interact directly with customers in person, or by phone. Ultimately you will make sure they get the product and/or information they need and get them on their way. If you don’t already have expert knowledge of the building products we carry, you will be willing and able to develop the knowledge you need to provide the exceptional customer service experience that our customers have come to expect from us. ResponsibilitiesAs a Branch Customer Service Rep, you’ll know all about what we sell, know what we have on hand, and how to get what we don’t. General responsibilities include:Customer Service
  • Greet customers as they enter the distribution branch, or, as they call
  • Answer customer inquiries about the materials and services Gentek provides
  • Make it easy for customers to do business with us. You are their business partner.
Order Processing
  • Enter and process customer orders through Gentek’s order system (e.g., BAP)
  • Provide accurate and helpful information about products, availability, and delivery status
  • Process customer payments to accounts in an accurate and efficient manner
Office Administration
  • Perform basic administrative duties, including the accurate filing of paperwork, bank deposits etc.
QualificationsQualifications:Education/Experience/Skill
  • Post-secondary education an asset
  • Experience in the building industry an asset, but we are willing to train the right candidate
  • Able to read and write word and letter/number sequences
  • Must be computer proficient

  • High compliance with standards, requirements, and processes
  • Emotional intelligence that facilitates respectful and courteous interactions with customers and other Gentek employees
  • Attentive and detail-oriented
  • Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, and perform in a fast-paced environment
Environment & Physical/Mental Demands
  • Must be able to endure largely sedentary work
  • Distribution branch physical environment: noise, fluctuating temperature due to bay doors being open, constant stimulation of senses (visual, audio distractions)
