Job Description

The Associate Architect is responsible for to assist in creating and organizing project charters which document client and internal requirements into high level solution descriptions which are used as input to our planning and project estimation process. This encompasses the architectural domains: business processes (together with Client Services and representatives of the BA, QA and Development department), information/data, application landscape, infrastructure landscape and IT services, and the SDLC in line with the business needs.

Key Job Functions/Responsibilities

  • Creation of project Charters to communicate detailed solution to the client, RPM management, project estimation, business analysts and development.
  • Ability to interact with and brief customers and internally at an architect and technician level.
  • Understand RPM system components, architecture and limitations to find the optimal solution for integration with customer systems.
  • Ability to select the most appropriate design patterns for various integration solutions, including batch file exchange, real time messaging, data synchronization.
  • Work with internal groups to design and document solutions for interoperability and interconnectivity between RPM solution components and various customer systems.
  • Ability to conceptualize, design and document and present fully functional integration solutions

Basic Skill Level Requirements

Education:

  • University or College Degree in Computer/Software engineering or a related discipline

Experience:

  • Significant experience developing, managing, and publishing external and internal documentation involving multiple contributors, including product overviews, service descriptions, implementation guides, API reference guides, and integration guides
  • Strong understanding of high-level architectural concepts in infrastructure, solution, technical and business architecture.
  • Experience developing documentation for SaaS and API solutions for a technology company.
  • Knowledge of structured XML/JSON-based authoring environments.
  • Knowledge of interface technologies and tools such as Serviced Oriented Architectures (SOA), REST Services, XML Schema, YAML, Swagger, Postman, and MQ Series.
  • Knowledge of security standards and implementations, such as SAML, JWT, OAUTH, Single Sign On, TLS.
  • Knowledge of key business integration points such as electronic signatures, CIF systems, Books of Record, financial product manufacturer and distributor systems, and common integration solutions like Cannex, Fundserv.
  • Understanding of system integration concepts such as data synchronization, two phase commit, and data reconciliation.
  • Understanding of ASP functionality and services including service levels, management processes, batch scheduling, system monitoring.
  • Financial Services business knowledge

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to independently produce documents which are suitable for client consumption.
  • Excellent project management, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Highly motivated, detail oriented, flexible, self-directed, self-starter, who can meet deadlines in an Agile environment with a desire to expand their technical and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to use modern technical tools such as Microsoft Office editors and tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio, etc., to write and document procedures for client and prospect deliverables.
