The Swift Current Broncos Hockey Club has an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of the Swift Current Broncos as an Assistant Coach.

Key Responsibilities:

· Collaborate with the Head Coach and General Manager in setting the overall vision for the team and players, and the development and execution of a strategic performance plan.

· Directly involved in the coordination of practice, pre-game, in-game, and off-season activities focused on skill development, in-game structure and performance, player health and safety, evaluation, morale, culture, behaviour, discipline, and education.

· Reviewing, cutting, and consolidating game video to support the development of players and game planning.

· Contribute to the coordination of travel, accommodations, meals, equipment, and all other logistics required for the operation of the hockey team.

· Acting as a prominent member of the organization’s hockey operations; both within the organization, and externally with media and the community.

· Working with other Broncos staff to execute community activities as well as general communication and marketing activities.

· Representing the Swift Current Broncos organization professionally and courteously through the Broncos media and community events, and in all other activities

· Prioritizing the mission, vision, and values of the Swift Current Broncos, and supporting the organization in their duty to serve the community.

Requirements and qualifications:

· Hockey Coaching experience with a major junior or higher-level hockey organization (CHL, AHL, NHL etc.) is considered an asset. Applicants with Junior A experience will also be considered.

· NCCP High Performance 1 certification

· Qualifications for Safe Places Certification

Qualities and Skill Sets

· Strong communication skills

· Ability to build strong connections with athletes, co-workers and other league colleagues

· Strong hockey background in playing, coaching, and/or evaluating

· Deep understanding of effective tactics, systems, and strategies for specialized areas such as special teams and the defensive group.

· Organized, prepared, and detail oriented

· Strong research and development capabilities and habits

· Trustworthy, committed, and mission focused

· Must be able to travel with team on all road trips and team activities

· Must be locally situated or willing to relocate to Swift Current, Saskatchewan during the season

· Must be legally able to travel outside of Canada
