.Main duties

• Assist in the development of architectural designs
• Analyze building codes, by-laws, space requirements, site requirements and other technical documents and reports. Ensure all drawings and plans are accurate, complete, and compliant with building codes and regulations.
• Prepare manual and CAD (computer-assisted design) drawings, specifications, cost estimates and listings of quantities of material from conceptual drawings and instructions
• Construct architectural and display models, and 3-D virtual models of architectural designs
• Prepare contract and bidding documents
• May supervise drafters, technicians and technologists on the architectural team
• May supervise construction projects and co-ordinate, monitor and inspect work done by others.
• Review and revise drawings based on feedback from team members and clients
• Communicate and coordinate with other team members to ensure project deadlines are met
• Maintain organized and up-to-date project files and records
• Communicate with site supervisors regarding any information required.
• Review and finalize the take-off list. Make sure the list is updated with respect to any changes to drawings

Employment requirements

• Completion of a two- to three-year college program in architectural technology or a related subject is usually required.
• A period of supervised work experience, usually two years, is required before certification.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, and other relevant software
• Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and construction practices
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $62,524.02-$77,194.71 per year
