Job Summary:

The Application Engineer is responsible in supporting our data communications business in delivering high quality, customer-focused products to market. The successful candidate will focus on designing and executing experiments to prove, optimize, and support our products as they are intended to be used in our customer’s application. The Application Engineering function supports all phases of the product lifecycle, from Product Definition through to production validation and end-of-life.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret IEEE and OIF Industry Standards
• Support new product development, marketing, sales and field application engineers by creating and executing application test plans in the R&D Lab Environment.
• Design and execute experiments to understand device behavior and optical system performance.
• Lead the creation of application notes and material for the promotion of products and concepts to the field.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics or similar Engineering field and/or equivalent experience.
• 2 years working experience in the Semiconductor Industry, or Optical Module Market for design or system integration
• Enjoy tinkering with Electronics with a passion for solving problems
• Experience with high speed test and measurement equipment
• Experience with fiber optic test and measurement equipment and methodologies
• Experience with coding in C and developing measurement automation using Python
