What you’ll do
The Retail Bank Application Delivery Manager (ADM) works in collaboration with internal delivery squads and external service providers to manage all aspects of the digital retail bank solution. The ADM manages members within the digital retail bank squad and is accountable for the technical design decisions and outcomes. The ADM works collaboratively to craft the product roadmap from both a business and technical point of view and communicates/delivers to that vision. They work closely with squad members to create a modular, scalable solution that addresses & incorporates future architectural changes and designs.
You will obtain deep knowledge of the entire technology stack for the digital bank and work with various external vendors and internal IT groups to design, build and deploy bank functionality.
Activities would include:
- Lead and manage a technical delivery team including coaching, mentoring and team dynamics.
- Collaborate with corporate counterparts and external delivery systems to deliver a seamless solution with a focus on systems quality and customer experience.
- Communicate designs and strategies with the team and corresponding delivery segments
- Ensure consistency across the delivery effort and escalate issues quickly to senior roles where required to reduce risk, eliminate barriers, and resolve competing views.
- Work with project managers, security, risk, business partners and various stakeholders to evaluate solution design options and provide recommendations for retail bank capabilities.
- Lead system architects to create technical process model / flows that show technical integration points between vendors and Canadian Tire Bank (CTB)
- Conduct performance appraisals for squad members based on their functional performance as domain experts & work contributors, with input from applicable operational leadership (e.g., Product Owners, Pod Technical Leads)
- Support talent retention by charting and tracking growth paths of all squad members, managing the motivation of squad members by optimizing assignments, and organize activities (learning journeys, seminars, etc.) to provide continuous learning.
- Be cognizant of security, organizational risk, PCI, and business at all stages of the software delivery lifecycle and lead issues to resolution.
What you bring
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science or related field with 7+ years practical experience in Application delivery
- 5+ years experience working at a technical role within a Canadian financial services company, preferably a digital retail bank.
- Proven understanding of the software development life cycle via Agile development practices (such as Scrum or Kanban)
- Strong experience in building , leading and managing technical teams
- Web application analysis and design skills with the understanding of object-oriented design patterns service-oriented architectures, including web services (REST, JSON, JMS, SOAP, XML)
- Knowledge in principles of software architecture, design, delivery and support
- Experience with Spring/J2EE based delivery would be an asset
- Knowledge regarding the practical application of security/risk concepts, standards, and regulations in the financial industry
- Excellent analytics, problem solving and solutioning skills
- Understanding of Banking regulations like AML, Fraud, AODA, CDIC, OSFI as it pertains to deposit, unsecured and secured lending products would be an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
