Description

AOC System Engineer provides systems engineering support for all Plans and Programs assigned projects. Tasks include:

• Draft Build List of Materials/Rough Order of Magnitude.
• Track project milestones.
• Validate requirements.
• Author project documentation IAW industry standards.
• Provide data center and AOC WS subject matter expertise.
• Engineer AOC WS and data center solutions for a wide variety of issues including but not limited to multi-tenancy, distributed operations, cloud services, expansion, and security.
• Provide troubleshooting assistance.
• Provide AOC system and data center training, as required by the Government.
• Participate in external configuration management and standardization meetings, when required by the Government.
• Evaluate mission requirements and engineer technical solutions.
• Update and maintain rack elevation drawings, floor plans, and hardware inventories.
• Provide Ryan Center IT infrastructure support when it does not conflict with 700 ASUS or 710 COS mission accomplishment.

Position Requirements

• Minimum of two years’ technical experience with cloud environments within the last five years
  

OR

• Minimum of four years’ demonstrated experience with computer networks
  

OR

• Minimum of four years’ demonstrated experience administrating endpoint systems (client systems, servers, etc.).
  

AND

• Minimum of one year as a system engineer in a DoD environment to include experience with DoD procurement
• Primary working hours will be within the unit’s duty hours of 0730-1630, Monday through Friday. Primary working location will be the Ryan Center at Langley AFB. Personnel may be required to work non-standard hours such as rapid reporting, shift work, or 24-hour operations, depending on the operational requirement of the 700 ASUS and 710 COS. Weekend and holiday work may also be required. Changes to work hours will be coordinated with 48 hours’ notice, to the maximum extent possible. These non-standard hours have historically averaged between 20-25 days of shift work a year
