Position: Analyst, Process Excellence & Continuous Improvement
Reports to: Manager, Process Excellence & Continuous Improvement
Position Term: Full Time Permanent

Job Description:
The Process Excellence and Continuous Improvement Analyst is a member of the Process Excellence and Continuous Improvement (PECI) team, as part of the Advanced Analytics & Innovation group. Under the direction of the Manager, Process Excellence and Continuous Improvement, the Analyst reviews and analyzes operational processes, identifies best practice processes, and facilitates process and operational improvements to maximize efficiency.

This role is responsible for creating an empowered Continuous Improvement culture at World Vision Canada. This will be done by ensuring the necessary tools and resources are available for employees, developing a training and coaching program, delivering training to employees and coaching employees in the use of Continuous Improvement techniques. The role is also responsible for delivering large/cross-functional process improvement initiatives in partnership with key stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Promote and drive Process Excellence, Lean and Six Sigma (LSS) methodology and Continuous Improvement culture as part of daily work activities.
  • Develop and deliver a training and coaching curriculum focusing on LSS and Continuous Improvement tools and techniques that will lead to a Continuous Improvement Certification available to all employees.
  • Continuously support and coach colleagues in LSS and Continuous Improvement tools and techniques
  • Lead workshops, process mapping and process optimization exercises
  • Gather and analyze data, perform benchmarking analysis, directly investigate and analyze bottlenecks and inefficiencies to seek data driven solutions, and promote best practices
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with business partners across the organization
  • Document processes using flow diagrams and recommend solutions to improve quality system standards, procedures and processes to eliminate waste using LSS methodology
  • Create and maintain process documentation and other artifacts to ensure control and consistency in key organizational processes
  • Promote a systemic approach to define problems, identify root causes, develop and implement counter measures to achieve sustained improvements
  • Review, improve, update and standardize processes and procedures as necessary
  • Identify, assess, implement, quantify benefits, and successfully complete large/cross-functional process improvement initiatives in partnership with key stakeholders
  • Participate in project teams and coordinate to help execute on process improvement initiatives
  • Deliver on financial and other Objectives and Key Results (OKR’s)
  • Create metrics and reports to track efficiency savings, and value creation
  • Conduct process audits and reviews with teams where needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Math, or a related field.
  • MBA degree is an asset.
  • 3-5 years process improvement experience. Prior work experience with one of the Big 4 firms, a top-tier management consulting firm or leading Fortune 500 company is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement methodologies and systems, such as Kaizen, Integrated Work System (IWS), World Class Manufacturing (WCM), etc. required.
  • Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Certification strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Agile / Scrum methodology and related certification is an asset.
  • Proven results of LSS process improvement projects delivery
  • Demonstration of leadership skills, analytical thinking with attention to detail, problem solving and project management skills including being a project lead.
  • Familiarity with project management frameworks, agile methodologies, iterative delivery techniques, and associated tools. Ability to keep teams on track using a variety of collaboration tools and techniques.
  • Strong data analysis skills, ability to set priorities.
  • Eager to challenge current practices, make data driven decisions, be a change agent and build relationships of trust on cross-functional teams.
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of various functional units’ operations and processes.
  • Thrives in a fast paced, dynamic environment and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Professional in communication and influencing skills and ability to interact with all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to work across diverse teams and to manage multiple tasks in parallel.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), exceptional listening skills.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills – specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
