Job Description:

Select is beginning the search for Lead Hands for our 2022 Agriculture Projects! As a Lead Hand, you will be responsible for overseeing a crew of workers in various Southern Alberta canola fields.

Compensation & Hours:

· The rate of pay will be $21/hour with LOTS of overtime opportunities

· This is a fulltime, seasonable position starting in the Spring

· Retention bonuses for returning Lead Hands

Position Summary:

· Supervising and motivating a team

· Ensuring safety and performance standards are met

· Accurately tracking and reporting work time, attendance, and incidents

· Providing first aid if necessary

· Driving crews to and from fields when applicable

· Working in various weather conditions

Required Qualifications:

· Can motivate individuals of varying ages and cultures

· Class 5 Non GDL license

· Strong problem solving and leadership skills

· Computer skills

· Ability to commit to the entire project

Bonus Points For:

· Current First Aid

· Class 2 or 4 Driver’s License (Ability to transport crews)

· Living in Taber, Bow Island or Grassy Lake

· Agricultural background
