Our expectations

Reporting to the Manager, Learning and Development, and in collaboration with various Lowe’s Canada internal clients, the Advisor, Learning and Development participates in developing, implementing, and assessing training solutions in order to contribute to employee development and engagement. The incumbent will work with managers from the head office, distribution centres, or stores across Canada.

Your Role
  • Support the various initiatives, including organizational diagnostics and analysis of training needs
  • Contribute to identifying the current status of the organization’s needs and to developing learning and development plans
  • Provide efficient learning solutions that are adapted to key performance indicators (KPI), the needs of customers, and the business context
  • Develop various learning solutions based on the recognized adult learning principles
  • In partnership with the department, carry out various training programs on design, broadcasting, assessment, and follow-ups to improve department performance
  • Assess the effectiveness of training tools, solutions, and channels and work with internal experts to identify, analyze, elaborate, or modify the programs as required
  • Leverage knowledge and experience in learning and development in conjunction with other disciplines, such as change management and project management
  • Manage and coordinate suppliers and external contractors that offer learning and development services, and ensure the quality and compliance of the products they develop as needed
  • Monitor the area of business under their responsibility, produce dashboards, and monitor the training budget for the client group
  • Build and maintain good relationships with US colleagues to ensure learning solutions are aligned
  • Lead and/or participate in training sessions, work sessions, and/or committees on the various projects related to the team’s activities
Requirements

The qualifications we are looking for :
  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to adult learning or learning solution design (or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience)
  • At least 5 years of experience in an advisory role related to developing major training programs for various learning groups
  • Ability to apply adult learning principles in order to develop or modify training programs for all levels of a retail organization, as well as assessment measures
  • Strong oral and written communication skills both in French and in English, and ability to lead training sessions or working sessions using a “hands-on” approach
  • Strong skills in managing relationships, providing consulting services, and promoting collaborative work (including with partners in other countries)
  • Ability to set priorities in order to manage multiple tasks and deliver results in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Motivation and results driven approach
  • Advanced creative and proactive thinking, analytical and reasoning skills
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office 365 Suite
