Position Information

Please note that this is a Department of Family Practice position. The successful candidate to this vacancy will be an employee of the Department of Family Practice and not The Ottawa Hospital.

Temporary until approximately September 30, 2022.

This position is for the General Campus.

Rotation/Shifts

Days and evenings, Monday to Friday, 8 hour shifts.

Basic Requirements

• Post-secondary degree or diploma, or equivalent;
• 3 - 5 years of previous related administrative experience;
• Knowledge of medical terminology;
• Proficient with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams;
• Experience with Office 365 applications, including SharePoint
• Knowledge of best business practices in office administration;
• Excellent organizational and time management skills;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills;
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision but also effectively with a team;
• Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information;
• Experience booking meetings, scheduling and managing calendars, taking minutes;
• Database management experience;
• Good judgement, initiative and excellent interpersonal skills;
• Ability to adapt to change quickly and meet challenging deadlines;
• Experience communicating with tact and diplomacy.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Quality Improvement experience;
• Data collection;
• Experience in a healthcare setting;
• Experience with EPIC EMR.
