FAG Aerospace Canada Inc. a world class designer, developer and manufacturer of aerospace bearings, is seeking an Account Executive Engineerin Stratford, ON for the Aerospace Division. The plant serves the North American aerospace market primarily supplying bearings for aircraft engines, engine systems and helicopter drive train applications.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

APPLICATION ENGINEERING:
  • Review engineered product definition for produceability, design improvement, lean manufacturing or cost reductions.
  • Make proposals to customers based on engineering knowledge.
  • Review and administer new contracts.
  • Lead functional teams for new product introduction. Manage NPI schedules. Provide preliminary design calculations.
  • Review and approve drawings.
  • Review customer specifications. Negotiate with the customer for changes. Maintain internal specifications to the customer specifications.
  • Provide the customer with engineered design modifications that improve part function manufacturability and/or throughput and/or cost.
  • Make engineering decisions as to the usability of deviating parts.
  • Participate in lean walks to aid the shop in changing design and process to improve yield and manufacturability.
  • Build customer confidence, through the creation of engineering reports which are compliant with the customer’s needs, to qualify new sources and new pieces of equipment.
  • Prepare the analysis in the event of a failed bearing to determine root cause and report to customer.
  • Interface with other Aerospace manufacturing divisions on joining projects, technology development.
  • Support sub-tier suppliers as required for NPI, cost reduction and/or MRB activities
ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT:
  • Keep customers informed of the latest engineering technology Schaeffler has to support them.
  • Identify and initiate new project introductions.
  • Obtain prototype, production tooling and production orders.
  • Maintain forecast data and support quote and engineering proposals
  • Coordinate the resolution of production startup and run at rate issues.
  • Coordinate resolution of quality, delivery, inventory and receivable issues.
  • Put the best/appropriate Schaeffler resource in front of the customer.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of market and customers to develop and execute successful business plan, including sales goals and strategies.
  • Maintain current business in addition to achieving sales growth targets and continuously improving/deepening customer relations.
  • Translate customer needs into Schaeffler technology
  • Effectively manage/motivate cross-functional project teams to meet Schaeffler and customer expectations re: deliverables and timing

Qualified candidates will have:
  • BSc in Engineering. Mechanical, Systems, Aerospace or Materials Engineering
  • Membership or eligible for Professional Engineers Ontario
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment. Precision machining preferred
  • Project Management experience
  • Basic business and Accounting knowledge
  • Formal negotiating training/experience an asset
  • Must be assertive, outgoing, and personable
  • Must be able to read orthographic projection drawings. GDT knowledge an asset
  • Excellent systems aptitude (SAP experience a plus)
  • Proficiency with MS applications
  • MS Access or other database experience an asset
  • Able to travel (approximately 2 days per month) within Canada, the US and overseas
  • Must be eligible to access (ITAR) International Traffic & Arms regulation controlled materials
  • Strong organizational skills, time management, creative thinking and ambition a must
