Your Responsibilities
  • Perform simple optical design, simulation, and analysis of indoor and outdoor lighting systems.
  • Review design proposals and provide feedback based on regulatory, corporate and customer requirements.
  • Assist in all photometric testing activities including working with quality, manufacturing, and third-party vendors.
  • Support suppliers with LED binning and sourcing
  • Collaborate in cross-functional teams with other technical disciplines (marketing/product management and operations).
Education + Experience Required
  • Diploma in: Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Design or relevant work experience;
  • 2-5 years’ experience, relevant prior work experience: drafting, lab technician, photometric technician.
  • Experience in designing illumination systems preferred with softwares such as TracePro, LightTools, Zemax, Photopia or ASAP (asset);
Qualifications + Skills Required
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks;
  • Must be results-oriented;
  • Should have a capacity for innovation and creativity;
  • Demonstrates a sense of initiative and autonomy;
  • Experience at working both independently and in team-oriented environments;
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, and to interpret an extensive variety of technical information in mathematical or diagrams form with the resultant conclusions then being comfortably presented to both Lumenpulse management as well as customers;
  • Can easily conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines because of well-developed analytical and problem-solving capabilities;
  • Fluency in the French and English languages is required. Strong written and oral communication skills;
  • Knowledge of computer-aided mechanical design and simulation similar to one of the following softwares: SolidWorks, SolidEdge, Pro/Engineer or AutoCAD Inventor a plus.
