Since 1912, Clean Energy Compression Corp; (CEC) has manufactured industrial equipment known for its quality and reliability; Today, CEC is a leading supplier of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Renewable Natural Gas equipment for vehicle fueling and industrial applications; We are also developing a line of hydrogen compressors; Our products include compressors, dispensers, storage systems, CNG parts, and technical services; IMW is part of Landi Renzo and Clean Energy Fuels;
Position Overview:The Mechanical Designer works in the Engineering team on assigned projects; The work includes detailed design and production drawings; Work and tasks are assigned by the lead engineer; A good understanding of ANSI drawing standards, manufacturing methods, and geometric tolerances is essential; Drawing control and maintenance is very important and the mechanical designer is to play an important part in developing and improving drawing control procedures and company standards;
Position: Mechanical Designer
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Generate concepts for components;
  • Generation of detailed manufacturing design and drawings;
  • Generation of engineering BOM in AX;
  • Development of 3D models using SolidWorks;
  • Control of drawings as per company procedures;
  • Improve drawing control procedures and company standard practices;
  • Set up software system to ensure standardized drawing formats and model generation;
  • Maintenance of part and engineering BOM in AX;
  • Check drawings when assigned;
  • Know and understand workplace health and safety rights and responsibilities;
  • Complete all applicable quality records;
  • Perform work by IMW documented policies and procedures;
  • Other duties as required.

Education and Experience:
  • Engineering diploma or degree in mechanical (or similar) engineering or experienced machinist or fabricator;
  • 0-2 years of experience in preparing manufacturing drawings for fabrication and assembly;
  • Experience with machine and component layout;
  • Solid background with fittings, materials, fasteners, sealing components, and standard parts available in the industry;
  • 0-2 years of experience using SolidWorks for the production of layout and manufacturing drawings.

Physical:
  • Regularly required to stand, walk or sit; use hands to operate computers, and office equipment; use vision and hearing when working with communication and office materials.

Computer Skills:
  • SolidWorks;
  • Formal training or experience in MRP software.

Language:
  • Ability to communicate clearly with production staff and vendors both verbally and in writing.

Other:
  • Good analytical skills are required to allow the computation of engineering design parameters;
  • Ability to analyze failure data to allow troubleshooting and finding the root cause of problems.
