The position of Junior Accountant is a member of the finance team, reporting to the VP Finance. The Junior Accountant provides support to the Finance Department by managing daily accounting tasks.

Primary Responsibilities

• Review, code and process vendor invoices, ensuring proper approvals are obtained
• Review and reconcile invoice discrepancies
• Address and respond to vendor inquiries
• Prepare purchase orders for approval
• Process expense reports and reconcile credit card transactions
• Process customer payment applications
• Assist in month end account reconciliations, journal entries and report preparation
• Assist in other accounting projects as required
  

Requirements

Requirements and skills:

• 2+ years experience in a junior accounting role
• Accounting diploma and/or working towards accounting designation is an asset
• Strong excel skills and proficient in Microsoft Office
• High degree of attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
• Strong analytic abilities
