Join the Finning Canada family, part of the world’s largest Caterpillar dealer. We are currently looking for a dedicated Heavy Duty Mechanic who will be responsible for the field troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of a variety of Caterpillar mining and general line products, based out of Hay River, NWT location.

Job Description:
  • Troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar equipment
  • Perform field diagnosis and field running repairs
  • Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
  • Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
  • Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
  • Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required

Qualifications:
  • Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Completion, or in the process of completing all Finning S- level courses
  • Self-motivated and computer literate
  • Experience with Costwatcher, DBS, SIS and Warranty Systems as well as a good understanding of Finning systems, would all be assets
  • Successful candidate will need to be customer orientated and motivated to meet the customer’s expectations
  • Ability to work safely with minimal supervision
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience repairing CAT equipment
  • A recent driver’s abstract is required

  • This position will work a Monday to Friday day shift
