The Water St. Cafe Group is looking for a Chef de Cuisine to join our team to drive and grow our already great program! After a challenging year for all of us in the hospitality business and us all overcoming challenge after challenge, we’re proud to have started 2022 with a spirit of growth. We’re excited to add a culinary leader to our team to take us to the next step of our legacy.

The Water St. Cafe is located in historic Gastown, surrounded by cobblestone streets and across from the world famous Steam Clock. Our restaurant is inside the old Edward Hotel, which was first constructed in 1906 and is truly a special and unique establishment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
o 2 to 5 years Sous Chef or Exec Chef
o Leadership skills.
o Organizational skills.
o Cleanliness.
o Motivated and able to motivate others.

JOB SUMMARY:
o Operate day to day operations of the restaurant.
o Supervise activities of kitchen team
o Plan menus and create features.
o Leadership, guidance, and coaching of the team.
o Running the line and working stations.
o Setting and achieving labour and food cost targets.
o Ordering and par levels management.
o Inventory management.
o Ensuring consistent product quality to company standards.
o Maintaining cleanliness to company standards.
o Weekly and monthly reporting to the GM and Owners.

ASSETS:
o Optimum Control experience.
o Business and guidance coaching experience.
o Culinary diploma and/or Red Seal certification.
o Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
