Job Description

Scientific Service Technician is responsible for the overall service and repair of Olympus Microscopy. Instrumentation and electronics received at Quebec city facilities. Performance of these responsibilities shall be conducted in accordance with departmental and corporate guidelines in a manner that will ensure achievement of established business goals and objectives. This position will gain operation and service proficiency of Olympus instrumentation and electronics through classroom home study and practical experience.

Job Duties

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspect, repair, and maintain all demo equipment to meet quality requirements and KPIs.
• With minimal supervision conduct repairs perform maintenance and detailed cleaning of products and accessories and installs software upgrades.
• Facilitate and follow up on with third party vendor repairs and OCA when required.
• Ensure timely professional and effective response to customer service needs to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Submit required reports in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with OCI requirements.
• Establish and maintain open communication with the Field Service Manager other Field Service Specialists and the product support organization and infrastructure in Olympus SEG to resolve all undefined or ongoing instrument problems.
• Responsible for all service parts requested by or assigned to the FSE.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Manage tools for SSD Field.
• Support Service Warehouse Team as required.

Job Requirements

Education and experience

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology Biomedical Equipment Technology or equivalent education or experience is required.

Competencies:

• Strong communication skills
• Organized
• Reliable
• Knowledge of Microsoft tools
• Fluency in English and French;
• Be able to obtain a passport and travel internationally without restriction
• Have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Willingness to travel (10-20%)
