Genesis Robotics & Motion Technologies – Supply Chain Manager

Langley, BC

Genesis has a unique new opportunity for an experienced Supply Chain Manager looking to contribute to a truly unique business environment. You will help us build a world-class manufacturing and supply chain operation to produce industry disruptive actuator technologies for robotics and automation. The ideal candidate will have a creative approach to problem solving and can help guide us as we commercialize our inventive core actuation (electric motors, gears, combined actuators) technologies.

You will be pivotal in developing best practices as we scale our manufacturing capability and capacity. Reporting to the VP of Operations, you will collaborate with high-calibre supply chain and manufacturing professionals as well as a talented array of engineers from multiple disciplines to institute strategic supply management methods and processes for our robot actuators.

This Manager position will guide a growing team that currently has 11 team members including three team leads. The ideal candidate is technically enthused, hands-on, and can provide a high level of strategic and tactical leadership to the supply chain function.

What You Will Do In Your Role

• Lead, guide, coach, and mentor a growing Supply Chain team (Production Planning, Procurement, and Materials & Logistics)
• Oversee the execution of all supply chain activities for production, product development and technology
• Define, create, implement, and own the material flow within the order-to-delivery process
• Develop supply chain strategies for new programs and initiate activities to execute
• Lead the development of GRMTs supply chain with partners to support the growth of product offerings from concept design thru to market launch
• Collaborate with the Quality and Manufacturing teams on the ongoing transformation of GRMT manufacturing capabilities to high volume manufacturing with a focus on make vs buy decisions
• Work closely with Program Management, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Sales to align activities and help ensure material availability and quality
• Continually acquire knowledge of best practices and trends; share that knowledge within GRMT and implement changes when appropriate
• Identify and lead cost optimization and reduction initiatives
• Lead the journey with DDOM (Demand Driven Operating Model) supported by TOC (Theory of Constraints) and Lean Principles
• Proactively identify potential supply chain issues, conduct analysis, and implement solutions
• Summarize data, establish KPIs, and present insights to the Senior Leadership Team
• Some international travel (up to 10%) may be required
• Support and demonstrate leadership with all HSE legislation and regulations, ensuring a safe work environment

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain or a related engineering field, Professional Designation (SCMP, CPM) or equivalent work experience
• 10+ years of supply chain management experience in a high-tech rapid product development and manufacturing environment
• 5+ years of managerial experience
• Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• Highly flexible and adaptable; demonstrated success in dynamic, fast changing environments
• Strong entrepreneurial and continuous improvement mindset
• Exemplary change leadership and organization skills
• Excellent collaborator - able to take different approaches as appropriate to the situation and the people involved
• Able and willing to travel internationally, up to 10% of the time

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience in the manufacturing of complex assembled products
• Experience in environments where supply chain supports ongoing production as well as product development efforts
• Working knowledge of DDOM, TOC, and Lean Principles
• Experience with large ERP solutions
