The main purpose of the Geotechnical Engineering Section is to provide support, technical and management expertise for highway planning, embankment and slope stability assessment, foundation design, geological hazards, aggregate resource management and, development of standards, specifications and procedures for geotechnical investigation, design and construction monitoring. The function of the Aggregate Management Program is to encourage the wise management of provincial aggregate resources and to assure the current and future availability of economical sources of aggregates. The Aggregate Management Program includes all aspects of planning, management, land referrals, and reclamation of gravel pits and rock quarries.

Under the limited administrative direction of the Aggregate Resource Manager, the primary purpose of this position is to assist in the planning, direction and management of the aggregate management program and to provide expert advice to regional, district and headquarters staff, including other agencies, ministries and private organizations.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Related College or Technical School diploma and four (4) years of experience in an associated field of science such as resource management and geotechnology; or grade 12 and seven (7) years of experience in resource management and geotechnology.
  • Demonstrated experience in business planning, project management, negotiation and contract administration.
  • Must have a valid B.C. Driver’s License or equivalent.
