If so, this job might be for you.What this role is:As a Software Developer on the Workforce Engagement Management (WEM) Development Team, you will be contributing to the development of a full-stack application using modern UI frameworks based on AWS cloud-based microservices used to deliver mission-critical, cutting-edge communication products. You will work in a fast-paced startup environment where continuous change, innovation, and experimentation are a given.WEM innovates in domains like scheduling, forecasting, safe long-term storage of data, form builders, speech analytics, machine learning, data science, and reporting. We are currently looking for software engineers with expertise on either the front-end or those who prefer full-stack development.What this role isn’t:As a Software Developer, you will be contributing to day-to-day development, maintenance, and monitoring of your team’s features. This role is not building simple single page sites, or single tenant services. We are developing for a complex multi-tenant cloud ecosystem. You will be contributing to complex features from design to the actual deployment and monitoring of your work in Genesys Cloud.What you’ll bring to the table:To be successful, you should be a strong problem solver that wants to make contributions to our team and product suite. You should be curious about cloud technology and expand your skillset. Being resourceful and detail-oriented will contribute to your success here at Genesys.Some details about what you’ll do:

• Regular meetings with the team for open communication, idea sharing, supporting other team members, answering questions.
• Participate in code reviews to learn and grow as well as to help your team members learn through constructive feedback.
• Unit, integration, and manually test code that is being developed by the team.
• Look for areas of improvement, within the code, architecture, and infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain AWS microservices written in Java and other JVM languages (Kotlin).
• Continuously improve a system deployed in production without downtime
• Design, development, and testing of features/functions delivered via platform components and/or services that are highly scalable, available and reliable
• Stay current with industry developments and new trends, and recommend new technologies as components of a solution when appropriate
• Understand and comply with PCI, HIPAA, and GDPR
• Adhere to Genesys Code of Business Conduct and Ethics

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Software Development
• 2+ years of experience in Software Development, ideally building web applications
• Experience with the full application lifecycle from development through deployment and support
• Demonstrable understanding of scalability and availability in distributed systems
• Experience with Unix operating environments (Linux, macOS)
• Working experience with REST APIs
