What this role is: 

You will design, develop, and execute testing strategies to validate and improve engineering efficiencies of features to enhance the Genesys Cloud Workforce Engagement Management (WEM) product suite. You will have the opportunity to use cloud technologies like Lambda, DynamoDB, as well as other AWS services in a very dynamic and agile environment. 

The WEM product suite is comprised of a wide range of innovative AWS services around agent scheduling, forecasting, agent coaching, speech analytics, recording, reporting, and gamification. 



A Successful Software Engineer in Test Will:

  • Provide technical and project leadership in designing full stack testing solutions
  • Works with other teams to leverage testing best practices between the groups
  • Strong knowledge of quality management methodologies and techniques
  • Responsible for evaluating modern testing and quality tools and practices and bringing that knowledge into teams
  • Provide day to day technical guidance to team members in their areas of responsibility
  • Conduct test reviews (and attend code & design reviews) to help ensure that development process is followed and that the criteria for delivery to product owners are attained.
  • Coordinate bug hunts to gather user feedback for new features
  • Actively engaged in seeking new information which yields understanding systems and their integrations
  • Build trust and maintain relationships with team members of product management and development
  • Participate in design and code reviews to help mentor other team members and to influence technical direction of testing department
  • Coordinate test efforts for projects involving multiple teams to ensure appropriate test coverage
  • Expert in the architecture, design, and customer use cases for their team’s services, dependencies, and product
  • Identify acceptance criteria for complex projects and determine priorities for test automation to balance operational efficiency with sufficient test coverage
  • Identify areas of risk for performance, longevity, and architectural robustness by designing and running longevity and destructive tests
  • Assist support engineers with escalated customer issues by reading logs, explaining intended behaviors, and identifying defects



Preferred qualifications or experience: 

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science (preferred) or related degrees or equivalent in work experience.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Testing cloud services for security and for compliance with HIPAA, PCI, and SSAE-16 would be an asset
  • 2+ years of industry experience 
  • Expert proficiency of the following:
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data using software analytics services such as New Relic and SumoLogic to monitor services and diagnose problems
  • Ability to use delivery pipeline automation and configuration tools such as Jenkins
  • Testing of web applications using Selenium
  • Understanding of how application frameworks such as Spring and NodeJS are used to develop applications
  • Advanced proficiency of the following:
  • Knowledge of service-oriented architecture (SOA)
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) using programming languages such as Java and Python
  • Knowledge of object-oriented design patterns
  • Knowledge of multi-tier web applications and technologies such as HTTP, JavaScript, and JSON in a service-oriented architecture (SOA)
  • Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) such as EC2 and S3
  • Knowledge of agile testing methodologies and best practices for continuous delivery (CD)
