Single Site - Resident Care Aide

Reporting to the Director, Resident Services and taking work direction from the Resident Care Coordinator, the Daily Living Assistant works cooperatively and respectfully with residents, co-workers, families, visitors and volunteers to create a positive, pleasant and homelike environment in the cottages. This includes the provision of personal care, housekeeping and food preparation and service.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience

• Successful completion of a recognized Resident Care Attendant/Home Support Worker program.
• Recognized coursework specific to caring for residents with dementia; for example, community college course – “Caring for Persons with Dementia”.
• First Aid/Food Safe/WHMIS
• A minimum of six months recent related experience in a unit specializing in the care of residents with dementia.
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• To be eligible for consideration staff must be vaccinated in accordance with the requirements of the Provincial Health Officer’s Order. Proof of Vaccination required.

1500-2300 Tues
