Course Description:
An introduction to the Anishinaabe language, including the syllabic writing system.

Class Schedule:
LectureTuesdays 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM; Tutorials Fridays 3:00 - 4:00 PM and 4:00 - 5:00 PM

Sessional Dates of Appointment:
September 1, 2021 - April 30, 2022


Salary:

Sessional Lecturer I: $16,979.33

Sessional Lecturer I, Long Term: $17,738.50

Sessional Lecturer II: $18,171.15

Sessional Lecturer III: $18,603.79


Minimum Qualifications:
An undergraduate degree in Indigneous Studies or eqivalent required. Must have a minimum of two years of experience with speaking and writing Anishinaabemowin, with a working knowledge of dialect diversity.


Preferred Qualifications:
Preference given to individuals who have previously taught at least two or more years of Anishinaabemowin at the post-secondary level. Preference will be given to candidates who are first language speakers or a minimum of "Advanced-low" on the ACTFL scale (actfl.org).


Description of Duties:
All duties associated with teaching an undergraduate course, such as preparation and delivery of course content; administration and marking of assignments, tests, and exams; calculation and submission of grades; supervision of assigned TA(s); and holding regularly scheduled office hours.
