Senior Legal Journalist

We are an award winning global B2B media company, looking for an intelligent and energetic senior legal reporter to cover court cases, business deals and legislative developments across Canada. The reporter will be responsible for monitoring cases, legislative developments and other legal news across Canada and writing engaging content each day.

Working closely with the legal editorial team your responsibilities will include:

• Interviewing leading litigators, business lawyers and other legal experts across Canada
• Writing feature articles for our print and online legal properties (Canadian Lawyer,Lexpert)
• Delivering vibrant and succinct copy while working to very tight deadlines
• Writing about high-profile court cases, deals and legislative developments and legal other trends
• Covering landmark cases, deals and other legal events as they develop

Essential criteria:

• Bachelor’s Degree in law, journalism, or equivalent professional experience
• The driving ambition to break news as it happens and provide analytical insights to legal professionals across Canada
• Commitment to accuracy and strong attention to detail
• Strong legal research skills and familiarity with Canadian legal resources
• A succinct writing style and nose for news
• An interest in high-stakes court cases, deals and legislative developments
