Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. Our PRESTO, Payment Processing Office is seeing a Senior Business Analyst to represent business requirements to internal and external stakeholders and stay involved during deployment to identify efficient and cost-effective changes to optimize functionality of systems solution by tracking performance and mitigating implementation risks on significant projects.

What will I be doing?

• Develops a thorough understanding of the business goals, practices and processes to translate into system functionality requirements and user stories that define project scope and specifications
• Work closely with the Product Owner to champion the product vision, develop roadmap, and manage product backlog
• Support the Product Owner from product development to launch that includes design/testing, client/business enablement, go-to-market activities, and on-going performance
• In partnership with business leaders, develops strategies for the application of technology; leads or participates in the development of business cases
• Facilitates dialogue and discussion between the business and internal and external providers to assist with prioritizing between competing objectives
• Assists the business to prepare business cases, understand scope limitations, and manage expectations during project implementation
• Proactively identifies opportunities for new technology/automation or streamlining of business processes and workflows

What skills and qualifications do I need?

• Minimum six (6) years’ experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in the transit, payment technology, and/or banking industry
• Passionate about digital space, technology innovation, and customer centric design thinking
• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Process Improvement, or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
• Experience leading teams to successfully deploy technology solutions in transport, payment, banking, or Telecommunications industry is an asset
• Experience with computerized quantitative and analytical tools (e.g. data modeling, workflows, and business process analysis) and with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project, etc.)
• Interpersonal, oral/written/presentation communications skills to document and present business needs, specifications, reports, project documents, and implementation plans
