Position Overview

We are seeking a talented Regional Senior Systems and IT Operations Engineer to manage advanced datacenter infrastructure design and implementation in US and Canadian datacenters. Under moderate supervision this role acts as resource of enterprise technologies and is responsible for the delivery of Systems and IT Operations services to both internal and external TAI clients. Provides guidance and expertise to management and users on topics surrounding strategy and best practices. Solves problems through analysis of possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents. Proficient within discipline and contributes significantly to organizational objectives.
Responsibilities
• Work closely with Vendors, TAI Business Teams, Partners & Clients to ensure Business Users system connectivity of all servers, shared software, and other applications. • IT Operations support – incident management support the service desk with day-to-day trouble ticketing and resolution, desktop support, email administration, server and server appliance maintenance (monthly patching), network performance, controls documentation, VPN set-up and repair, system capacity, infrastructure support, asset management and procurement. • Provide technical support for the following areas: Public/Private Cloud Vendors, WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security including compliance with all policies and regulatory procedures. • Dev ops – ensure that software upgrades and deployments follow rigid change management processes, are fully documented, and properly tested to ensure expected service quality. Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems to ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems. • Occasional visits to datacenters for hardware installation and configuration. Physical server, switches, arrays and related rack equipment. • Perform network, server and security audits (SOC -1/2) and new client consultations, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies. • Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for Continuous Improvement. • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records. • Monitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports. • Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems. • Provide oversight of Physical Building Security Administration. • Maintain regular and predictable attendance. • Perform other duties as assigned, including occasional after hours support. • Provides information guidance to colleagues with less experience.
Requirements
Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Technology, related degree, or equivalent experience Preferred: Insurance industry knowledge ITIL certification Experience and Skills • 7+ years IT Operations Experience, designing, managing and maintaining data center resources utilizing colocation, virtual and cloud infrastructure. • Experience supporting IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), application hosting systems and services utilizing clustering, load balancing, and networking. • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing configuration management solutions across various operating systems and virtualization environments • Ability to automate and maintain automation for core job function • Server deployment experience and general skills in platform administration tasks including installation, patching, clustering, log-shipping, and tuning. • Excellent customer-service oriented communication skills (verbal and written) demonstrating ability to share and impart knowledge. • Ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions • General skills in customer relationship management, vendor management and change management • Basic business knowledge and what is expected of IT in continued success of the business. • General investigative, analytical and problem solving skills • Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies, products, and services • Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions • Good organizational and prioritization skills • Ability to set goals and appropriately balance priorities, deadlines, deliverables, clients, and projects simultaneously • General ability to work well within a team environment and participate in department/team projects • General ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines Technical Requirement • Microsoft related technologies: Windows Server, O365, SQL, SharePoint and Great Plains, MS Licensing/SPLA • Strong skills in virtual platform management (VMWare/vCloud/vCenter) • Telephony - VoIP Administration • SQL Server Administration – Installation & Configuration • Active Directory Administration, GPO Hardening • Procurement Process • Remote monitoring and management of system alerts and notifications • General knowledge of application/data security best practices • Knowledge of sophisticated file system and data management procedures • Knowledge of NIST/CERT Cybersecurity Framework • Experience work with Security as a Service - SIEM • ITIL v3 standards • RSA Administration – Token Provisioning • General understanding of web fundamentals such as SSL, HTTP/S, FTP, 3 Tier Architecture • Knowledge of DNS, adding and managing Zone Records. • Supporting Email and Smart host in an Enterprise Environment • Firewall Rules Managing and Port Requirements
