Turning Leaf is a non-profit, charitable organization that provides person-centered, crisis and treatment services to low and high-risk vulnerable and marginalized individuals living with mental illness and intellectual challenge in our community. Turning Leaf’s support is customized to every individual’s needs and risk level. We offer crisis-intervention and treatment services, community support, day program services, residential support (including emergency housing, 24-hour homes, cluster housing, and home share), a harm reduction program, clinical services, indigenous services and more.

New Hire Incentive Program: Full/Part-Time new hires will receive a $200 bonus after six months of employment.

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Recruitment Manager, the Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for providing full cycle recruitment to assigned hiring programs in Manitoba. The Recruitment Coordinator will provide support and mentorship to volunteers and practicum students of the Human Resources Department.

The Recruitment Coordinator will participate in and provide analytical support in design, development, and implementation of recruitment projects, while maintaining continuous improvement to the recruitment processes.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Cover letter and updated resume
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check, Adult Abuse and Child Abuse Registry Checks (no older than three months)
  • A bachelor’s degree/diploma in business administration, human resources, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an administrative role
  • Minimum 1 year experience in an HR role is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Provincial Labour laws, the Workers Compensation Board, Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health, current issues in HR, and best industry practices
  • HRIS experience preferred.
  • Heart for those struggling with intellectual and mental health challenges.
  • Three employment references

  • Excellent time management skills with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication, decision making, and professionalism skills
  • Ability to take initiative and to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIRES

Full cycle recruitment:

  • Vetting of resumes, conducting preliminary phone interview, coordinating, and conducting in-person interviews, conducting reference checking, communicating offers/denials of employment to applicants, and updating the Human Resources department of new hires.
  • Develop effective recruitment strategies, utilizing web-based employment tools.
  • Ensure all required employment documentation is obtained including Criminal Record Check, Child, and Adult Abuse, Drivers Abstract
  • Assists with identifying issues affecting recruitment and implementing recruitment activities to continuously improve process.
  • Participates in and provides analytical support in design, development, and implementation of recruitment projects.
  • Maintaining accurate records regarding recruitment and submitting monthly data reports
  • Represents and promotes organization to potential applicants by providing information, responding to questions, and collecting applicant data.
  • Attends and participates in job fairs, community activities, and other public and departmental recruitment-related events.
  • Other duties as assigned.
