Reporting to the Director of Canadian Operations, the Quality Manageris responsible for managing the overall company quality system, production quality, supplier quality, environmental management system, and requirements to

meet ISO9001, TS16949, ISO14001 standards, and customer-specific requirements. In this role, you will manage the team responsible for inspection and testing of materials, parts, and products to ensure adherence to established quality standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure project/department milestones/goals are met and approved budgets adhered
  • Manage subordinate staff day-to-day performance with full authority for personnel actions
  • Develop, coach, and mentor direct reporting quality team members
  • Assess training needs and provide training to quality and production employees
  • Recommend and implement new or improved quality control methods, procedures, and/or standards
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements for Quality, Environmental, and Safety
  • Manage and maintain audit requirements
  • Develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished product
  • Collaborate with engineering laboratory and production functions to ensure quality standards are in place
  • Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment
  • Utilize quality tools to help drive continuous improvement
  • Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance standards
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of industry experience in a Quality Management role
  • Experience in Quality Management Systems and ISO 9000, ISO 14000 and TS16949 compliance
  • Understanding of APQP processes and documentation
  • Experience in developing and implementing quality standards and processes
  • Certified in Lean and Six-Sigma quality methodologies
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and experience in 8D processes
  • Experience creating and executing practical solutions to product problems in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to create quality specifications for use in design development
  • Must be able to multitask and manage multiple projects
  • Demonstrated team leadership and management ability
  • Proven ability to overcome obstacles and get results
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
