JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties:

  • This role manages and supports the sustainment and enhancement of Mobile Applications such
as Mobile Field Force, OpenWay Tools and ServiceLink on the Motion tablet and/or equivalent
platform for Smart Metering Infrastructure operations.

  • For all in-scope elements, the incumbent will work with members of the Application Operations
team and numerous service providers to ensure stable operating environments which perform
adequately and provide specialized technical advice and support for major initiatives and
enhancements.

  • Provide advice, counsel, and direction to internal stakeholders on key technology issues; direct
service providers in resolution of issues.

  • Manage and direct resources responsible for the day-to-day stability and performance of the
application environments.

  • This person will be expected to lead a small dynamic team of contractors/vendors and will have
accountability for their budget and deliverables.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent combined with a minimum of 10
years’ experience working in large enterprise organizations managing complex business solution
delivery, client support/situation management within a large enterprise organization across non-
mobile and mobile platforms.

  • Minimum 5 years of proven ability to manage small teams and has relevant hands-on technical
skills for managing Smart Metering infrastructure and systems along with 2 years of experience as
project lead and/or project coordination experience in the planning, testing and execution of
application support packs and version upgrades.

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience providing Tier2/Tier3 support for integrated Smart Metering
application technologies (i.e. OWT, MFF, SAP, ESB, ServiceLink) or equivalent complex mobile
environment. Combined with support experience with Smart Metering hardware technologies e.g.
Motion F-series tablets; Telegesis; Abacus; ITRON Centron.

  • Strong experience with Experience with: Microsoft Windows 7 OS and technologies including
AD, SCCM, GPO and DNS and other technologies such as VPN, Cellular APN and Firewalls.

  • Skilled at communicating and working with both technical and non-technical personnel in a multi-
vendor environment.

  • Exceptional verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills are an absolute must.

  • Ability to work in a team environment is preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with employees, internal and external customers,
contractors and government agencies is an essential factor for this role.

  • Ability to remain calm and respond positively to difficult or irate customers is preferred

  • The location of this role is LMS (Surrey)

  • This is a Full-Time Temporary role with an expected end date of Aug 30, 2022.

  • A Class 5 driver’s license held and maintained in good standing is required for this role
