It’s this inquisitive mindset and disposition for problem solving that makes you a great candidate for this role as Production Technician in the Card Room at CBN.

Troubleshooting is right up your alley, and you enjoy the challenge that comes with trying to rectify issues that arise when dealing with state-of-the-art production machinery operating in a high-volume environment. Your critical and creative thinking skills will allow you to solve problems quickly and ensure maximum uptime for a variety of equipment, making you a hero on the floor and a valuable part of the team.

If you have a thirst for knowledge, you will have the opportunity to continuously learn through your interactions with other divisions, departments, colleagues, and vendors. This may require international travel, so if you don’t have a valid passport, you best get one!

You have a strong work ethic and take pride in what you do, demonstrating initiative and adaptability along the way. It’s a fast-paced environment and priorities can change quickly, so the ability to pivot quickly is mandatory. While you will be a part of team, you will also find yourself working on your own so we are looking for an independent thinker who possesses good judgement (but isn’t afraid to escalate issues as required).

Having the capacity to clearly articulate your actions and effectively communicate and document them will prove beneficial in this role as you will be expected to need to inform an assortment of stakeholders about the production equipment, changes made on shift, and quality concerns, both verbal and written communication will be essential.

You will:

  • Be responsible for ensuring that all production equipment is maintained, and all preventative maintenance schedules are followed so that each piece of machinery achieve maximum uptime while performing to quality and throughput standards that ensure customer SLAs are achieved.
  • Install, test and develop training plans for new equipment. Work closely alongside the Manufacturing Engineering team and assist in writing test plans and then testing the machinery prior to deploying for live production.
  • Stay abreast of changes and adjustments made to software and the machinery. Ensure equipment and related systems are calibrated to the correct product, quality standards and production standards to ensure quality standards and department KPI’s are met.
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues and develop solutions by reading equipment schematics or leveraging your electro-mechanical, pneumatic or vision system knowledge to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Effectively communicate and document (in detail) all adjustments made to the production equipment, so there is a record for your colleagues and manager to refer to that will help them understand what and why changes were made.

A top performer will have a diploma or equivalent experience in electromechanical, pneumatic, or hydraulic maintenance/engineering; experience reading equipment schematics, and basic networking knowledge. This role, will require you to be able to stand for extended periods of time, capable of lifting up to 30lbs, available to work all shift schedules (including night shift). Ability to be obtain a Government of Canada Secret Level (II) clearance is considered a must for this role.
