Reporting to the Service center coordinator & junior production engineer with oversight by VP Engineering Works in conjunction with Operations, and any other department as applicable.

The Junior Engineer is responsible for executing projects as defined below and other duties, tasks and functions as delegated.

This position is a support position and joint initiative of the Chameleon Innovations Engineering and Operations depts.

Main duties

• Document and analyze mechanical assembly process, tooling, operational methods and throughput and tact times suggesting alternatives and improvements.
• Perform time and motion studies on both the shop floor and in the Engineering dept. root cause analysis, etc.
• This position will entail projects in both the shop floor and office work environments.
• Perform root cause analysis as applicable suggesting alternatives and improvements.
• Assist with the implementation of new systems, equipment and methods. These are including but not limited to Engineering instructions, Process mapping, Bills of Material (BOMs) and PFEPs (Plans for Every Part), fit, form and function (FFF) criterion, standard work, training plans that define technical requirements for manufacturing, assembly and compliance
• Participate in continuous improvement projects
• Assist with the Nonconformity (NCR) and corrective action process
• Various Quality objectives as assigned
• Other duties as assigned

Requested skills

Skills and requirements::

• Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical or Automation Engineering)
• Previous experience with ISO 9001 or other QMS
• Passion and alignment with our mission, vision, values & operating principles.
• Must be meticulous and detail oriented
• Strong work ethic and a passion for excellence
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, and management skills
• Knowledge of programming languages and automation
• Proven experience with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor an asset
• Previous automation experience an asset
• Previous experience working with ERP systems and/or accounting systems would be considered an asset
• Fully bilingual English/French (spoken/written) an asset
• Previous Lean Manufacturing training or experience would be considered an asset
• Knowledge of CSST and other regulatory compliance related to this position would be considered an asset Previous experience working in the metal fabrication industry would be considered an asset
