Portfolio Program Manager
  • Start: ASAP

  • Location: ONSITE OR HYBRID OR REMOTE

Responsibilities

As Portfolio Program Manager you will be responsible for:
  • Ensures detailed project plans, including timeframes and budgets are prepare for all projects
  • Oversees the management of all projects in designated Portfolio Area
  • Able to motivate team members, contractors, labour unions and government departments
  • Maintains a coordinated view of Portfolio Area’s projects and their interdependencies.
  • Manages Portfolio Area risks using standard risk management methods and tools
  • Manages client and key stakeholder expectations and issues, and works with Change Management to ensure organizational readiness around the programs and associated projects
  • -Manages change, evaluates impact on Portfolio Areas and projects and takes and/or recommends corrective action
  • Responsible for identifying the integration points and prioritizing / planning within designated area of the program.
  • Ensures quality standards are adhered to through all phases of the projects
  • Reports regularly to SPMO, senior management and steering committees on Portfolio Area level status, issues and risks

Provides effective coordination, and integration with other, interdependent areas of the SPMO program and projects
  • Manages contracts for external services relating to designated areas
  • Participates in the annual program planning process.
  • Leverages corporate Project Management Methodology
  • Promotes use of standard project management best practices

Qualifications

As Portfolio Program Manager your experience includes:
  • 10+ years of relevant and progressive experience, with demonstrated project team leadership managing programs or multiple concurrent projects.
  • A seasoned project management professional with experience leading programs or multiple concurrent projects.
  • Manages Portfolio Areas projects that typically involve information systems and information technology and result in business transformational change.
  • University or Master’s degree in Computer Science or in another discipline with relevant IT experience or additional IT training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Relevant project experience; P.Eng, PMP designation or working toward a PMP designation.
