Part-time Print Technician & Junior Graphic Designer

Blanka is a Canadian-based tech company disrupting the e-commerce space with our custom platform, private-label and logistics solutions. We are looking to bring on a Part-time Junior Graphic Design and Print Technician to help us realize our vision. This role will operate on weekends with a total of 16 hours per weekend. Initially there will be 5-8 weekdays required for training purposes.

We are looking for an eager, creative, and detail-oriented digital guru to join our amazing company. You will be part of a growing production team that produces our stunning custom-branded products in-house. As a print technician with a good understanding graphic design, you will operate our commercial printers to produce high quality products, under the guidance of Blanka’s CMO.

The main objective of this role is to effectively prepare design files to produce custom-branded products with our state-of-the-art printer, carefully following prescribed procedures and processes. In this innovative and exciting role you will get to learn more about design processes and flex your creative muscles in addition to seeing the fruits of your labour come to life as you print. • You will maintain the highest level of quality in your work from digital to print and in between
• You will carefully process print orders, keep detailed records, and troubleshoot files, systems, and equipment as needed
• You will learn to find efficiencies in our production processes
• You will apply knowledge and experience to process technically difficult files or issues during the printing process and help troubleshoot those to find effective solutions
• You will help efficiently create branded product mock-ups for our merchants designed to the specifications and sizes needed
• You will help assess merchant logo designs to see if they meet Blanka’s logo requirements
• You will help design and update merchant logos for print within Adobe Illustrator

• You have a keen eye for visual design with exceptional attention to detail
• You are very responsible to carefully inspect and evaluate the quality of printed products before delivery
• You are experienced in the key programs within the Adobe Creative Suite with a minimum of Photoshop and Illustrator
• You have the ability to work both independently with guidance from your manager and collaboratively with teams as needed

Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 16 per week

Salary: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Experience:

• Graphic design: 1 year (required)
• printing: 1 year (preferred)

Expected start date: 2023-04-03
