Position Overview

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers has an immediate opening for a Mid-Level Roadway Designer in our growing office in Laval, QC.

We are seeking the ideal candidate to perform a variety of design and CADD production tasks related for highway / civil projects and miscellaneous support for construction.

The Mid-Level Roadway Designer should have at least 3 years’ experience in engineering plan production, be familiar with current technical tools/programs/software, and CAD production practices.

Location

This role will be based in our Laval, QC office, but there is an option to work from our Oakville, ON office, with opportunities to travel within the Canada and US regions to projects as required.

Responsibilities

• In-office work primarily
• Work with engineering team in developing preliminary and final design plans and details.
• Participate in design reviews to evaluate design concepts and make recommendations
• Create and manage templates, sub-assemblies and corridors
• Use Bentley Micro Station / AutoCAD, and 3D modeling software (SS2, SS4, ORD or C3D)
• Produce documents with MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  
  

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in CAD production of highway and civil designs
• Design experience or Design-Build project experience an asset
• General knowledge of engineering principles and materials for highway / civil work
• Read and understand construction documents
• Proficiency in Micro Station or AutoCAD
• Proficiency of 3D modeling
• Highway design experience an asset
• Basic skills in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
• The ability to clearly communicate and collaborate well with Engineers and Designers
• Critical thinking skills necessary with the ability to plan ahead and conceptualize
