Your Opportunity

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will work with our team to design, develop, assemble, and test prototype motor cores, motors and drive units. We are looking for a creative individual, an out of the box thinker who still has practical grounding. Someone who can grasp the fundamentals of a problem and solve the problem in effective and innovative ways.

Your Job

PROGRAMMINGand operation of prototyping and manufacturing equipment, including motor lamination cutting and motor coil winding machines.

STRONGdesign, fabricating and assembly skills for equipment and instruments that require identification, modification, and adaptation of novel engineering techniques.

PROFICIENTat providing specialized, highly advanced professional engineering services in a specific field or discipline to design, develop and coordinate research, development, and production of projects.

ADAPT quickly to new learnings from prototypes and incorporate findings into designs.

COMMUNICATEeffectively in status meetings, perform design reviews, and contribute to solving challenging problems.

Responsible For

• Perform engineering calculations to validate new concepts.
• Generating detailed designs for prototypes ensuring all purchased and manufactured parts meet cost/performance/delivery requirements.
• Support operations in the build of prototypes.
• Contributing to test plan development for prototypes and either executing the test plan or supporting others that are performing the test plan.
• Analyze test results, mitigate risks, and resolve the unknowns. Get agreement on final designs both internally and with customers to finalize production designs.
• Supporting purchasing and manufacturing during the prototyping of new products/innovations.
• Working in compliance with divisional health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Ensuring that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards.
  

What You Bring To Enedym

• Mechanical Engineering experience. Compensation will be set based on the successful candidate.
• Familiarity in these areas is an asset: Electrified powertrains, electric motors, power electronic converters, control systems, electrical designs, electronics, magnetics.
• Proficient using 3D CAD and modelling software for mechanical design, SolidWorks preferred.
• Strong ability to conceptualize and create solutions for complex design requirements.
• A working knowledge of common machine shop tools and techniques.
• Capability in these areas is an asset: material characteristics (mechanical, electromagnetics), manufacturing precision, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerating (GD&T) , Finite Element Analysis (FEA), thermal systems.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• A self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team.
  

Education

A post-secondary engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

COVID-19 Response
