This position is based in our Langley BC location.

Position Summary

The Materials Manager primary responsibility is to insure materials availability for production operations of the manufacturing plant. These responsibilities include the planning and releasing of materials, material and information flow, and the management and control of inventory in achieving the business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Utilize data analysis, business intelligence, and reporting tools to forecast supply and material needs
• Responsible for the creation of materials requirements plans and forecasts and for all materials availability to support the manufacturing process while still keeping DIO to acceptable levels.
• Ensures weekly production schedule for both mold and print supports customers demand and is planned within the agreed sequencing framework
• Accountable for BOM and routing accuracy for all material items and groups. Manages all required changes
• Builds monthly build schedule, forecasts labour requirements. Identifies potential risks to achieving monthly build schedule and takes the necessary mitigating actions
• Conducts and manages month SI&OP planning meeting with cross functional representation from Operations and Sales
• Reviews calculated weekly schedule adherence. Works with Operations Manager to understanding primary adherence reasons and develops effective countermeasures
• Manages system mold rotations
  

Job Requirements

• Five plus years manufacturing management years of experience
• CPIM certification
• Must have adequate written and verbal communication skills
• General business acumen
• Working knowledge and exposure to materials planning structure which includes lead-times, routings and BOM
• Inventory Management – safety stock, customer stocking agreements, ABC classification, cycle count program
• Project Management
• Demonstrated problem solving skills – RCA, A3
• University Degree in Supply Chain, Materials Management or Operations Management
• Worked within a formal computed ERP, preferably SAP
• Demonstrated emotional intelligence- ability to manage stressful situations
