In this position, you will focus on managing production improvements in the manufacturing cells of the Measurement and Analytics (PAMA) business segment in Quebec City. Reporting to the production engineering supervisor, your goal will be to take charge of defining, managing, and improving the manufacturing methods of the operations. This function will aim to help improve the production tools and deliverables in order to optimize product costs, quality, and delivery times while determining the pace of the work phases within the budgets allocated to materials.

Your responsibilities

  • Improvement: Prioritizes mandates and interventions, in conjunction with the process specialist.
  • Optimizes the manufacturing processes and assembly sequences, in conjunction with the process specialist. Manages improvement projects and implements those in its field of expertise.
  • Directs and supports the investigation of problems and the corrections.
  • Implements and communicates engineering changes to production, including work instructions.
  • Defines new working methods and tools in his technical field and trains cell staff to follow these standards.
  • Maintenance: Supports operations on a day-to-day basis with the objective of delivery on time and according to the quality targeted (sales, purchases, service, and others).
  • Acts as a technical reference in his field of expertise for production, in particular the system aspects of the products and the FTIR and spectroscopy technology.
  • Keeps the database containing the calibration and maintenance plan of the equipment and template (i.e. IT Guide) up to date.

Your background

  • College studies in a technical field (physical, mechanical, or electronic engineering), in continuous improvement or any other relevant technical experience.
  • Experience in FTIR technology or spectroscopy, an asset.
  • Demonstrate great autonomy, a sense of responsibility, commitment, and intellectual curiosity.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Collaborative solution-oriented approach, with strong spoken and written communication skills (French and English).
  • Command of the manufacturing management processes and tool, an asset: ERP (SAP), Microsoft SharePoint, PLM (PTC Windchill) or equivalent, JIRA™ by Atlassian.
