Manufacturing Engineer Technician

Purpose of Role: The Manufacturing Engineering Technician will support the manufacturing of spools and hoses by supporting the Manufacturing Engineer with reviewing technical drawings and completing inspections. They will be the liaison between the manufacturing, sales, and engineering teams and will be the contact person when questions arise. Although not a physically demanding position, the Manufacturing Engineering Technician should be able to physically check parts and equipment often.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communication: Display strong communication daily while acting as primary interface between internal teams, such as sales, engineering, and manufacturing, who will all work together to produce specialty rubber products for the energy sector
  • Technical Documentation: Understand technical documentation to be able to independently convert drawings into SAP processes and drive physical fabricated material requirements
  • Inspections: Complete physical inspections of new and used parts to evaluate the accuracy or the product to the technical documentation available
  • Sustainability: Lead the rubber lined refurbishment program as part of Weir sustainability initiatives
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • 2 year technical degree/certification or 4 year mechanical/industrial engineering degree
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing industry with a strong focus on safety
  • LEAN or manufacturing optimization training would be an asset

Compensation: $80,000-95,000
