The Manufacturing Accountant is a member of the Finance team reporting to the Senior Accountant – Manufacturing & USA.

Key Activities

• Providing accurate and timely information on manufacturing processes, including raw material usages, resource (labour) usages and operating supply usages – from the ordering of these materials through to the manufacture of finished goods;
• Preparing monthly accruals and reconciliations for management accounts;
• Maintaining accurate and timely records for raw material inventory:

• Collecting data and performing all functions in the inventory system for raw material usages, dispositions, transfers and adjustments for production;
• Ensuring accuracy, and if necessary, correct daily entries by production department within the inventory system;
• Understanding bill of materials and their effect on inventory levels; and
• Providing input into setting policies and procedures with accuracy to ensure practices are within ASPE regulations.
• Collaborating with the parts department to maintain inventory accuracy and reconciling month end inventory;
• Monthly reconciliation of accrued costs to actual costs for co-pack, freight, customs, duty & brokerage on beverage raw materials, including tracking of actual freight, duty, customs & brokerage payments and maintaining monthly spreadsheets to adjust accrued costs to actuals;
• Preparation of monthly accruals and reconciliations:

• Reconciling and managing work in process inventories;
• Analyzing production variances and notifying production of discrepancies;
• Preparing and providing management reports related to the production variances;
• Reconciling of month end raw material inventory accounts and related journal entries; and
• Preparing of accruals and reconciliations for monthly management accounts.
  

Education And Experience

• Business Diploma in Accounting or equivalent;
• Two to three years of experience in accounting in a business environment;
• Strong understanding of Inventory Control Systems;
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail; and
• Motivated, focused and accountable for results.
