The Maintenance Coordinator will be based out of Dieppe, New Brunswick (102 Dawson Street, Dieppe, E1A 0C1) and will manage, lead, and motivate the Mechanical Maintenance crew to deliver results in key areas of safety, quality, productivity, housekeeping, asset and human resource objectives and continuous improvement. This is a permanent, full-time position. The primary language of work is English.

Job Requirements
  • Education Required: Trade Certificate or College Diploma.
  • Experience Required: 4-7 years of experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office programs is required.
  • Analytical and detail oriented with a high level of commitment and self-motivation.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Previous experience with a CMMS is an asset.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience is an asset.

The main duties/responsibilities of this role include:
  • Management of daily Mechanical Maintenance activities to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks and to control costs (labour, contract services and materials).
  • Responsible for the coordination and execution of all work assigned to the mechanical maintenance team. Responsible for the performance of their employees – both results driven, and behavior driven.
  • Work in conjunction with the Maintenance Planner and Operations to prioritize and schedule mechanical maintenance work (backlog management) to support the needs of the business. Work with contractors as required.
  • Manages staffing levels including vacation, overtime, and sick calls.
  • Communicate regularly with key stakeholders (other departments, site leadership) on status of work, whether during normal operation, or in times of unplanned maintenance downtime.
  • Develop and maintain a favorable employee relations climate within the crew. Develop and mentor technicians to increase capability to achieve higher levels of operational excellence. Request and receive feedback from the team to drive engagement levels.
  • Coordinate and lead the crew to achieve target goals in safety, housekeeping, quality, productivity, cost to manufacture and customer service (other departments).
  • Ensure the crew is adhering to standards, processes and systems established. Develop and maintain skill level to operate at standard and address day to day issues.
  • Work in conjunction with the Maintenance & Engineering Manager to ensure efficient and effective utilization of the machinery, and to identify and implement methods to improve uptime, costs, and throughput
  • Participate and contribute to RCFA meetings when required.
  • Bring forward any projects needed to close gaps or improve the business. Support and lead projects as needed.
  • Lead the daily morning meeting, communicating safety related information, work orders scheduled for the day, updates for site events, etc.
