Position Summary

Job Description:

BlackBerry QNX has been a leader in embedded systems for over 30 years. We extensively reuse open source software in our products and are seeking an Machine Learning Engineering Student to help us manage open source software. Location: Ottawa, ON

Length of Term: 4 Months

Responsibilities

• Administer/utilize static analysis tools to assess/triage risk/defects
• Develop full-stack internal tools using javascript front ends, python, flask, and docker
• Develop machine-learning and natural language processing tools to analyze big data
• Learn about intellectual property law and its impact on the value of your software
• Prepare 3rd-party license compliance
  

Skills And Qualifications

• Currently pursuing post-secondary education in a related field (ex.Computer Science/Math/Engineering)
• General comprehension of C/C++: including compilation tools
• Linux administration including command-line tools/scripting
• Demonstrated ability to develop software
  

Additional Assets

• Database development, development languages and frameworks.
• Comprehension of intellectual property law/licensing principles
• Static analysis tools, source code management, and build tools
• Machine learning or natural language processing experience
