Through the consolidation of digital data sources with SmartPAD™, Cold Bore provides operators with analytics in real-time allowing them to make informed decisions from their site or remotely.

Role Description:

Cold Bore Technology is seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our growing team. Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for providing assistance and maintenance to all computer systems and hardware, system support for office and field users, and identifying opportunities to maximize system efficiency. Working in a fast-paced team environment, this role requires a self-motivated individual with a high degree of collaboration and innovation. Responsibilities:

  • Work with the manufacturing team on computer procurement for the field.
  • Work with the RTOC (Real Time Operations Center) and Software teams on initial field computer setup and maintenance when computers come to the shop.
  • Work with the RTOC and Software teams to develop efficiencies, including automation and procedures for job-to-job computer maintenance.
  • Assist with IT field-related issues, being on call only for emergencies.
  • Handle ISP vendors, monitoring and creating data usage reports.
  • Advise on security requirements and assist with implementation for the field (Local firewall vs. VPN standards, etc.).
  • Handle purchasing and maintenance of software licensing and users for the Hardware and RTOC teams (Altium, Team Viewer, Atlassian, Service Desk, Antivirus, and Bitwarden management).
  • Maintaining network connectivity and health for the office.
  • Own network-based resources for the office, including printers, video conference rooms, and unassigned workstations.
  • Maintain Office NAS and ensure uptime.
  • Set up new users on server, VPN, and office 365.
  • Set up new users’ email, zoom account (confirm SSO), and personal folder on drive.
  • Set up security and authorizations for appropriate system access, including building and alarm access.
  • Troubleshoot issues with employee hardware (company or personal), office equipment, Wi-Fi, and access issues.
  • Manage antivirus and malware on all equipment (internal, remote, and in the field).
  • Manage ISP to ensure access, and redundant access to all machines (internal, remote, and in the field).
  • Procurement, management, and tracking of company and personal equipment as applicable.
  • Handling relationship with future MSSP to maintain a good security posture.
  • Ad hoc IT support for both the office and field, as required.

Requirements:

  • 3-4 years of experience in the Information Technology (IT) field.
  • Strong knowledge of both Windows & MacOS.
  • Experience in Linux.
  • Experience with both physical and Cloud-based Servers.
  • Experience working with edge-servers in remote locations across North America.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
