Overview of the Role
Edelman Canada is seeking a leader of its award-winning healthcare team. We are looking for an experienced marketing and communications champion who will help define and grow the work we do, leading the team in providing our clients with robust, integrated solutions to their business challenges.

This leader will bring extensive experience in Communications, Marketing, Professional Services, and/or related fields, including PR, digital, research, advertising, or management consulting to Edelman and will be ultimately accountable for client relationships, business growth, operations and strategic vision with implementation.

Measuring Success
Work in concert with members of the Canadian Leadership Team to create performance goals in support of the sector’s success nationally, and the success of our region. The Sector Leader will be evaluated on skill and behavioural competencies, including (but not limited to) revenue growth, personal leadership, innovation and creativity, strategic thinking, contributions to team culture and employee and client retention rates.

Role of Health Practice Leader

    • Client Engagement - Proactively counsel clients to achieve strategic business objectives as a trusted business partner
    • Transformative Leadership – Demonstrate a drive to transform clients and their communications work, create a shared vision that transcends diversified teams, and show empathy with sound judgment
    • Business Development and Marketing – Visibly represent Edelman in the Canadian healthcare community; ensure a steady new business pipeline by pursuing new, creative opportunities with current and potential clients
    • Management – Oversee Canadian Health team’s financial performance. Secure sustainable and profitable P&L growth through accurate forecasting/client billing, and ensure group profitability, utilization and staffing
    • Team Development – Nurture and lead team of professionals ranging from entry-level to senior staff, for maximum productivity and performance

Your Experience
You have a significant profile in the Canadian healthcare industry, combined with 15+ years of relevant experience in a healthcare vertical including but not limited to Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, Medical Technology, Hospital, Payer, Patient Advocacy and Professional Associations. Charismatic, versatile, and innovative, you act as a passionate representative of the company, are energized by the changing expectations of companies and brands, and embrace and advocate for strategic evolution. With business development at the core of your mandate, you know how to build a solid business.

Your Strengths
Along with all the above, you must have proven business acumen; refined leadership skills; deep marketing and communications expertise; curiosity and creativity; and credibility within the industry and amongst senior business leaders.

Your Education
The successful candidate should have a degree, an advanced degree and/or extensive experience in the communications and public relations field.
