Avon Valley Floral, a floral industry wholesaler and greenhouse producer for retail vendors in Atlantic Canada, is seeking a candidate for the role of Grower, Bedding Plants

Venor is proud to partner with Avon Valley Floral to recruit a Grower to join their office near Sussex, NB. This role reports directly to the New Brunswick General Manager, the Grower who will be part of a dedicated team to produce high quality bedding and potted plants, container vegetables and garden mums.

As a grower you will apply your knowledge and experience to produce crops in the 4.5 acre greenhouse complex , Have knowledge of environment control, plant growth regulators and IPM to establish reasonable and attainable deadlines to produce quality crops on time to established schedules. Train and coach irrigation staff to achieve quality crop results. During peak seasons be able to accommodate increased work hours and support production operations as needed.

The successful candidate will have a minimum 2 years of relevant experience or education in a relevant field. Have a strong knowledge of water and fertilizer management. Have a New Brunswick Pesticide Applicator Certificate (L1) or be willing and able to obtain one and a valid driver license and a reliable form of transportation.

You will be self-motivated and able to work unsupervised, have strong written and oral communication skills and Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, be a multi tasker and work well in a fast paced environment.
