Position Summary:

The FP&A analyst will analyze trends and inconsistencies for actual, forecast and budget reporting. You will play a key role in developing the annual budget and quarterly forecasts for the group.

This individual requires, strong attention to detail, accuracy, curiosity and exceptional organizational skills as they partner with various business leaders, client finance and the reporting teams.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assisting with the budget preparation and submissions for several GroupM agencies
  • Reviewing the budgets/forecasts submissions of all Canadian agencies and the consolidated Canada P&L
  • Assist with the agency client finance teams as required (reports, audit requests, queries)
  • Performing detailed variance analysis on all business unit forecasts and related sub-schedules ensuring it is accurately represented, understanding the driver of variances and identifying potential risks and opportunities for the business
  • Upload of budgets/forecasts into consolidation software
  • Analyse, report and communicate on monthly performance, key trends and variance analysis
  • Assist with maintenance and tracking of the IT budget for Canada.
  • Assist with maintenance and tracking of the co-location budget for Canada
  • Ad Hoc Projects/ Support: Will get a lot of ad-hoc requests from management, so it’s important to be able to think on your feet.
  • Collaborate across the organization including other teams within finance to resolve issues
  • Assist with the agency client finance teams as required

Skills and Behavior:

  • Excellent problem solving, organizational, written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Prior forecasting experience is highly preferred. Revenue, salaries and expenses
  • We are looking for a self-starter who is motivated to succeed and most comfortable when challenging the status quo.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot tables and V-lookups
  • Go getter- who can establish and build relationships
  • Experience with cost allocation
  • Experience with consolidation software: SAP BFC/Cartesis
  • Ability to handle high volumes and work within tight deadlines
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Major in accounting, finance or business-related field is preferred
  • 3+ years related work experience (with CPA designation or in progress)
  • Strong Excel skills (including Pivot tables and V-lookups)
  • Analysis and audit experience would be essential to the role
