About the role

A Bread Affair is looking for local food enthusiasts and University Students to join our team in Vancouver! Passion for and knowledge of our breads and our commitment to organic, locally sourced agricultural products and organic food handling are an asset for this position. If you want to work with a company that produces such great tasting bread, that customers keep coming back, then you will love to work with us! We are looking for hardworking, upbeat, friendly team-oriented individuals to work at Farmers Markets across Vancouver.

Your job would be to promote A Bread Affair’s products, by telling consumers all about our fantastic, organic, artisan bread, and selling our products! While full training is provided, food safe training is an asset. This position is a part time opportunity, with market days on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

Successful applicants will have a valid BC drivers license (no vehicle is required), a warm and outgoing personality and will enjoy the variety of tasks that are involved in running a stall at your local farmers markets.

A Bread Affair is fortunate to have huge support from the community. A reason for this is because of our presence at various local farmers’ markets where we are able to connect to community members directly. These interactions have allowed us to grow our operations, collaborate with local entrepreneurs, and develop relationships supporting projects that benefit the community at large. We’re looking for part-time Farmer’s Market Team Members to join our team and help us grow these essential relationships at our farmers’ market locations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Packing the products and supplies needed for market operations in accordance to daily invoices.
• Transporting the products and supplies to/from market locations.
• Setting up vendor booth at market locations including tent set up, tables, sanitization and product display.
• Following food safe guidelines while transporting and handling products.
• Meeting sales expectations by actively sampling, describing products and their usage, and answering customer questions.
• Keeping accurate records of product sell out times, sampling, and trades.
• Booth breakdown, including packing up unsold products in an organized and careful manner, counting returns, and cleaning up.
• Maintaining a positive, friendly attitude when dealing with the customers, vendors, and the general public.

Qualifications

• Excellent reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Direct sales and customer service experience dealing with customers in a fast-paced working environment.
• Show initiative and adaptability

Part-time hours: 10 -30 per week

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Salary: $16.00-$17.00 per hour
