Summary

There is an exciting and unique opportunity for a talented professional to join the Marketing Team in Vancouver as the Events and Relationships Manager. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing and working closely with senior staff, this role combines skills in community relations, brand partnerships and event planning with a distinct focus on elevating customer experience, building longstanding relationships and connecting our brand with our local communities. The ideal candidate has a proven track record, with 5+ years of relevant experience in hospitality, public relations or event-related fields.

About the Role

The Events and Relationships Manager takes a leading role in the management and execution of the company’s redefinition and elevation of the way real estate sales programs are brought to market. The role seeks a confident individual with a natural ability to form human connections and execute outstanding event and outreach programming. The role will include frequent travel to Marcon locations across the Lower Mainland. Duties include:

Community Outreach

  • Brainstorm potential partnerships and methods for engagement with local communities
  • Build relationships and work closely with community partners to execute various events
  • Assist with corporate sponsorship management, ensuring alignment with other community outreach initiatives
  • Attend relevant community functions to identify and network potential opportunities for future collaborations, acting as an ambassador for the Marcon brand

Brand Partnerships & Events Management

  • Identify, network and develop potential partnership opportunities with retail and hospitality vendors and brands that align with the Marcon brand for various long-term initiatives
  • Manage all existing Brand/Vendor Partner relations, responding to queries and concerns promptly
  • Coordinate partner event requests, ensuring scheduling conflicts are avoided
  • Ensure events organised through Brand/Vendor Partners are leveraged to allow the Marcon brand to be appropriately represented
  • Manage planning and production of all Marcon events, from conception to execution
  • Maintain a calendar of events for all Marcon locations, accounting for standard programming, special events, and relevant community outreach
  • Work with the Marketing and Creative teams to develop relevant assets (e.g. photoshoots, event invitations, digital and print materials)
  • Attend community functions to identify and network potential opportunities for future collaborations

Facilities Management

  • Ensure various customer-facing Marcon locations offer an elevated experience environment in their daily operations
  • Provide inspiration for elevating our guest experience with vendor partners, leveraging our physical locations and how they relate to their respective communities
  • Manage event and operational budgets, ensuring operational plans are in place for all locations

Customer Experience

  • Build positive relationships throughout Marcon locations to inspire event participation and return visits
  • Act as the bridge between community/guest experience and purchaser experience – supporting and guiding potential Marcon purchasers and realtor partners within Marcon locations where relevant
  • Identify and develop relationships with realtor partners and respective brokerages in conjunction with Marcon’s sales team

About You

  • Exceptionally good at prioritizing, multi-tasking, problem solving, and managing your time
  • Highly self-motivated; you enjoy autonomy in your work
  • An excellent communicator, with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Highly trustworthy and accountable; you take pride in your work and in building your career
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in hospitality, public relations or event-related fields
  • Superior writing, editing, and communication skills
  • An ability to understand high level objectives and vision
  • A belief that exceptional service, elevated experiences and personal connections are what make events and places memorable for guests; delivering these is second nature to you
  • An ability to provide insight and strategic recommendations from project learnings or past experience where relevant
  • Strong computer skills: a high proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) is essential
  • A post-secondary school diploma/degree (Marketing or Business concentrations an asset)
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle, to facilitate visits to and from Marcon’s different sites across the Lower Mainland as needed
