Ecofitt is a demand-side energy and water conservation focused manufacturer, wholesaler, supplier and administrator of products and programs. Ecofitt primarily works with utilities, provincial efficiency agencies, NGO’s, industrial, commercial and institutional organizations across North America.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Field Manager, the Energy Coach is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our low-income customers. On behalf of SaskPower we are assisting their low-income customers by increasing the energy efficiency of their home by removing inefficient lighting and water products and installing free LED lighting, water saving products, smart power bars and qualifying customers receive new smart thermostats installed by certified electricians.
As the Energy Coach you would also be responsible for instructing customers on the proper functioning and care of their new products to ensure that they are able to take full advantage of the energy and cost savings associated with the program. Furthermore, you would coach the participant on a variety of ways to save energy in their home as well as perform basic home energy assessments and provide assessment results to participants.
Responsibilities
- Visit residential homes to install energy efficient products, specifically high-efficiency lighting, water products (aerators/shower heads) and smart power bars; ensuring all installations are completed in compliance with technical and program standards
- Educate residents on the use of their new products; explaining various settings and how they will help to improve and maintain energy efficiency in their homes
- Perform a basic home energy assessments/audit
- Coach program participants on efficient use of energy through demonstrations, behavioural recommendations, and presentation of personalized home energy assessment reports
- Ensure proper communication regarding appointment scheduling, installations and customer information is provided to the appropriate department in a timely manner
- Actively engage in creating a safe work environment for yourself and customers
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties if required
- Detailed and accurate completion of all required documentation; collecting and recording customer information to meet program requirements
- Inventory management: requesting, tracking and recording accurate inventory to ensure accurate records of on-hand inventory at all times
- Display courtesy and respect towards all customers and their homes
- Keep current with and follow all company health and safety policies and procedures and adhere to all WorkSafe SK regulations
- Maintain quality standards through adherence to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes
- Other duties as assigned
Location and Travel
- Due to the nature of the role and the need to be working closely with customers in Regina and the surrounding area, travel (including overnight) can be expected to consist of 10-20% depending on candidate and customer locations
Required qualifications:
- Valid SK Drivers License with a clean driver’s abstract is required
- Must have access to a vehicle to drive to appointments; a daily stipend will be provided for personal vehicle usage
- Must be physically capable of performing all work required of this position including but not limited to, frequent lifting of weight up to 40lbs, bending, occasional squatting/kneeling, working indoors and outdoors in all types of weather, must be able to work with approved protective workwear in dusty or slippery work environments
- Must demonstrate the ability to understand/learn new technologies (Smart Thermostats, Smart Power Bars, Smart Phone and various applications)
- Residential energy auditing experience and reporting is an asset
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, both in written and verbal communications
- Must be comfortable engaging and educating during in-home environments
- Strong Customer Service Skills
- Ability to interact with all demographics
- Possess strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with outstanding customer service and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be willing to travel up to and including 100kms a trip?
- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends
- Very punctual and dependable
- Ability to take direction and work with a minimal amount of supervision
- Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check
While this role will begin at part-time (15-20 hours per week), it is anticipated that this role will turn into a full time position.
