Electrical Technician

Commercial, newspaper and packaging printers count on us for the most extensive range of prepress solutions, including hardware, software and consumables. These include a.o. user-friendly chemistry-free printing technology which saves costs and the environment, as well as mobile publishing software for newspapers and magazines.

This position is directly involved in the manufacturing of inkjet printers. Responsible for assembling components using a variety of hand tools, manufacturing aides, systems and processes to meet the current production schedule. Use specialized measuring and diagnostic devices to evaluate how electrical equipment/circuits are working, building or calibrating instrumentation, build electronic assemblies/circuits based on reading electrical schematics, inspect for problems, troubleshoot electrical circuits and electrical/mechanical assemblies.

Responsibilities, but not limited to the following:

• Understand and follow all Health and Safety procedures.
• Work safely in accordance to safe electrical practices.
• Report production work orders in a timely and accurate manner.
• Coordinate work efforts to perform assembly of pre-fabricated components and sub-assemblies to form completed builds utilizing drawings, schematics, bill of materials and manufacturing work instructions.
• Work effectively in a team with other assembler’s and technicians or individually to achieve production of quality products and/or assemblies.
• Conduct multiple inspections and quality functions specific to product build following Quality SOP.
• Assist with on the job training, knowledge sharing and learning with other colleagues.
• Demonstrated ability to trouble shoot and find competent solutions to electrical issues.
• Ability to work and be an active participant in a 6S work environment.
• Wire and test electrical assemblies and cables; following engineering schematics.
• Complete all required documentation for quality assurance and build progress tracking.

Education:

• High school diploma or the equivalent.
• Technical trade school certificate, Electrical.

Experience:

• 1-5 years of experience in electrical manufacturing type environment.

Specific skills:

• Must have strong problem solving and electrical circuit troubleshooting skills.
• Proved ability to read and interrupt electrical schematics.
• Good oral and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work as an individual contributor and as a member of a team as required.
• Ability to follow direction and learn in a fast paced environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge in electrical circuitry and electrical principals.
• Able to look for problems in complicated electrical grids/circuits, isolate the issue and resolve issues.
• Manual Dexterity: Working with wires, using hand tools and handling small components requires manual dexterity. Using calibration equipment, and wires to build electrical systems.
• Ability to look at electrical grids/circuits and evaluate them for any problems, to make sure they are being installed correctly.
• Ability to properly terminate and crimp prepared wiring harness following work instruction and wiring schematic.
• Wire control panels and electrical supply cabinets.
• Assemble electronic board assembly.
• Detail Oriented.
• Demonstrated basic computer skills, ability to use electronic manufacturing tools to report, and retrieve information.
